American Camp Association’s and National Camp Impact Study data aptly indicate that children benefit in numerous ways when they attend camp. Benefits include a greater willingness to try new things, improved social awareness, positive peer relationships and better school experiences the following year, plus so much more.
It’s almost camp season!
Have you signed your kiddo up for summer camp yet? Although the weather hasn’t felt much like it yet, camp season is right around the corner.
Ann Arbor Hands On Museum and Leslie Science & Nature Center have expanded their Unity in Learning camp offerings this year.
Leslie Science and Nature Center
When children are signed up for the camp at Leslie Science and Nature Center, they can look forward to exploring 50 acres of nature to explore. Campers will see several different types of habitats including the oak-hickory forest, vernal ponds, prairies, and open fields.
Leslie Science and Nature Center has a variety of animals for campers to see up close. Animals include invertebrates, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds of prey.
This camp is available for students PreK-5th grade.
Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum
Students K-3rd grade also have the option to sign up for camp at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum.
Campers are exposed to the wonder of science, math and technology when they spend the summer with the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum. Campers will explore over 250 interactive exhibits, ScienceWorks Lab rooms and local outdoor spaces in Downtown Ann Arbor.
