This book was astonishingly good and like nothing I have ever read (and I have read a lot!) Bex and Davey are characters that you will not forget. The empathy, wisdom, depth, and sincerity that permeates McDunn’s writing spoke so profoundly to me as she took her characters through life changing experiences. This is a book I cannot recommend enough!

I am a big fan of everything Landis Blair does and The Night Tent is no exception! Little ones will love following Watson’s path through the magical land under the covers as he gets drowsier and drowsier until he creeps back out and falls asleep, too tired to worry about what might be lurking in the closet or creeping under his bed. The illustrations are pure magic.

I need more Winnie Wednesday! I loved this fantasy of a young girl who sets out to save her family’s honor and finds unexpected friends old and new along the way, as well as many monstrous “nightmares” she must use all her intelligence and instinct to slay. There’s a lot happening below the surface of Hemlock Falls yet to be revealed and I can’t wait to learn what it is!

Such a fun, fast read. A little thriller (think James Bond) and a little romance (classic enemies to lovers) mixed with exotic locations, Kpop fandom, imminent danger and glamour. The characters are fun and likable … I would love to see more of them in subsequent books!

Caldecott Honor author, Lauren Castillo, has created a delightful new series for younger readers with, Our Friend Hedgehog. Alone on a river island, Hedgehog, has only her stuffed dog, Mutty, for company. When a storm blows Mutty away Hedgehog leaves the island to search for him. On her adventure she meets an array of woodland creatures, who become her friends. Reminiscent of Winnie-the-Pooh this series is wonderful for readers just moving on from picture books.
